    IELTS academic test is an English proficiency test that assess the four basic skills that is listening reading speaking and writing of the students who wish to go abroad and wanted to start their new academic journey.

    MODULES OF IELTS ACADEMIC

    IELTS Speaking evaluate your speaking skills in three parts which is conducted of 11-14 minutes, and it is a face-to-face interview between test taker and examiner.


    Part 1:
    Part one of speaking also called introductory part in which examiner will ask you majority about yourself, like your likes, dislikes, choices, hobbies, routine etc. Students have to answer all the question one by one.

    Part 2:

    Part two contains a cue card, a cue card is a card in which student will get one core question and the sub parts of that question on a specific topic. Students will get one minute for making notes in which they can write anything they want, and after one minute student will need to speak for about 1-2 minutes on the given topic.

    Part 3:

    Part three contains general questions majority on opinion and ideas in detail. Your critical thinking will be analyzed in this part.

    • Fluency and coherence
    • Lexical resource
    • Grammatical range and accuracy
    • Pronunciation

    Fluency and coherence will assess how stable you speak without hesitations and unnecessary pauses. It also assesses the logical order of your speech and uses of cohesive devices. In other words, it should be effortlessly and in a flow.

    Lexical resource assesses the range of your vocabulary and ability to express ideas in different ways without repeating the vocabulary or sentences.

    Grammatical range and accuracy will analyze that how wide range of grammar student has used while using different kind of sentences (simple sentence, compound sentence, complex etc.) It also assesses the accuracy and correctness of the given answer according to grammar.

    Pronunciation will analyze the sound clarity of the student (all vowels and consonants are pronounced correctly in a perfect manner or not).

    IELTS writing contains two different task from academic topics, and for both task 60 minutes will be given.

    Task 1:
    In task one student will get a report writing.
    Word limit: at least 150 words
    Total time: 20 minutes

    In report writing students will get a picture of any general thing like graphs, bar charts, construction diagrams, maps, manufacturing diagrams etc. and they will need to highlight the main features from the given image, organize it into a proper report of at least 150 words in 20 minutes.

    Task 2:
    In task two student will get an essay writing.
    Word limit: 250 words at least
    Total time: 40 minutes

    In essay writing students will get a prompt on any academic topic, and they will need to write an essay on it of at least 250 words in 40 minutes.

    MARKING CRITERIA:

    • Task response/ Task achievement
    • Cohesion and coherence
    • Lexical resource
    • Grammatical range and accuracy

      Task response/ Task achievement assesses how correctly your answer is, covering all requirements and points which were given in question, and answer is relevant to the question using 150 words for task 1 or 250 words for task 2.

      Cohesion and coherence analyze how stable and clear your writing is. It includes logical order of answer using cohesive devices and linking devices.

      Lexical resource contains the wide range of vocabulary. It also analyzes your way of deliverance of ideas in different ways using many kinds of sentence type and words.

      Grammatical range and accuracy assesses the different kind of grammatical sentences (simple, conditional, compound, complex etc.) including the grammar accuracy of
      sentence structure.

    IELTS Academic reading contain text from books, journals, magazines, newspapers, and online resources. Given text may also contain diagrams, images, graphs, etc. Text may be of different styles like descriptive, persuasive, logical arguments as well. You will get different question and you will need you find the answers from the given text. There will be 3 sections, and 40 questions.
    Time to answer 60 minutes.
    Text length is up to 2150-2750.
    Marking: each question carries one mark.

    Types of questions:

    True/False/Not given, Multiple choice, Yes/No/Not given, Matching information, Matching headings, Matching features, Matching sentence endings, Sentence completion, Summary/note/table/flow-chart completion, Diagram label completion, Short-answer questions.

    You need to identify all the information from the given academic text of reading of following questions.

    IELTS Listening contains daily topic conversations and situations and has 4 sections.
    The 1 audio have two speakers talking and 2 part contains monologue and both parts discuss social related topics.
    Part 3 contains dialogues and 4 contains monologue in which educations and training related topics are discussed.

    Time allowed: Approximately 30 minutes

    Number of parts: 4

    Number of questions: 40

    Marking: Each question contains 1 mark.
